Social Media: How does it work
and can it enhance our life?

Why is social media so attractive to women? For that insight we turn to Dr. Andrea who explains it this way…women are more biologically wired for social media. They’re more vocal, expressive and willing to share. Women historically have been the ones creating connections and building community. It’s in our nature because we know what these connections do for our health. By sharing life’s challenges and victories, we allow stress to be disconnected from our life and our human connections promote longevity and physical and mental health. In this and future episodes on Social Media, we’ll chat more specifically about Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Podcasting. We’ll not only talk about the value of learning social media to the brain and mind, but also about the value of it to the heart. Lost loves and relations no more! Stay tune, this podcast is coming soon!

Friendships: The Key to Longevity
Part II

Naturally, a deeper conversation about what makes for enduring friendships began stirring our minds and we invited a few guests to comment on the types of bonds we develop with other women and the fascinating variety of ways we create important support systems for ourselves.

Our commitment to this idea of friendship as a nourishment for health and well being sits beside the all important area of love and romance and the kind of intimate partnership for which most/many women yearn.

Friendship: The Key to Longevity
Part I

Our first few shows have been a real learning curve for us.  We seem to be going with the flow of energy around our friendship theme. We begin with a place of pain around derailed or ruptured friendships because 99.9% of our interviewees vibrate with that kind of circumstance in their own lives.  After that first theme show, the Derailed Friendships, we set our sights on addressing some deeper aspects of friendship in general.  This episode touches upon our attractions to friends as well as some of the issues that go with true caring in stronger friendships.

Derailed Friendships—What the Hell Happened?

It’s amazing how many women have had the sad and surprising experience of severing ties with a close friend.  Our next recording explores the frustratingly poignant and little discussed subject of derailed relationships. Sometimes we are the ones to sever a tie that seemed so tight. Other times a dear friend disappears from our life, leaving us with a feeling of confusion and hurt– a mystery on our hands.  Why the suddenness? Join us for an enlightening “listen-into” the minds and hearts of prime time women.

The Birth of the Boom Goddesses
Introduction

Tune in to our first ever recording—a conversation between Dr. Andrea Gould-Marks, BB Peters and Jennifer Davis-Paige as we introduce the reasons and history behind Boom Goddess Radio and its inclusive message for Prime Time Women. Three unique women, similarly impassioned from diverse backgrounds set the stage for deep and lively conversations and interviews that invite You, our listeners, into a safe space for fascinating exchange.

THE POWER OF STORY

bullets3

Women bond with each other by talking and resonating. We gravitate to hearing another person’s stories and problems because it builds an empathetic connection.  Listening activates our mirror neurons, something that makes the female psyche rich and resourceful.

A woman’s story can be relevant and resonant about everything from the type of car they’re driving, to the kind of relationship that would make their life complete. As long as that chord of recognition is struck, a woman becomes receptive.
Boom Goddess Radio is like girlfriends getting together.  We aim to create dynamic conversation that illuminates and enlightens our listeners on issues which touch them closely.

THE BOOMER WOMEN

bullets3

The majority of Prime Time women have no plans to retire in the near future. Some by necessity and some by choice, Prime Time Women are choosing to remain financially viable through re-imagining their lives, relationships and professions, often extending  their jobs or beginning entrepreneurial ventures.

In the mere 10 year period between 2002 and 2012, the number of working women aged 55 to 64 increased by an astounding 57%, more than any other age group of women!
